Day 104: Walk the line

Another exciting day of the usual computer stuff, TV watching, football documentary work, etc. And did another 30 minutes on my elliptical exerciser while watching part of the awful Catwoman movie starring Halle Berry. The one thing I can say about that film is that it wasn't as gawdawful as I thought it would be. But it was still pretty bad. Not even worth using as a background movie while you're doing other things. But I've seen worse movies too.

That afternoon I met Barbara, Lisa, Matt, and Michelle at Casa Garcia's for pre-movie margaritas before we saw Walk the Line.

Day 103: A Siererious lunch

Had the usual morning of getting up, IMing, and getting ready to go out for lunch. What was unusual was that this was my first lunch out all week. Well, that and I met both Trish AND Brian for lunch, along with Kristi. Seems my lunches either involve Trish OR Brian. Never both together. So with Brian on vacation, Kristi and Trish with their usual work hours, and me unemployed, no one was in a big hurry. We ate at Houston's, which is expensive but good. I recommended the $15 prime rib roast beef sandwich to Brian, so that was on my head if he hated it. I think he liked it enough, though. So, lunch had the usual silliness with the sisters, and so before we left, we'd turned the spherical sugar holder that opens like Pac-Man into a face smoking a toothpick. We're all how old now?

In the parking lot, Kristi let slip that Trish was gonna re-gift me with something Kristi had given her. But I didn't catch what the item was, so I wouldn't find out for another month. (It was a Batman car antenna topper. Why Kristi had thought Trish would want that is beyond either of us).

We all split off for location that weren't offices. I did more work on the football documentary before heading out for another movie meeting. Trish also called me from Fry's to let me know that they're hiring. Ha. Ha. Ha.

Bitch.

Just kidding; all in good fun...

Day 102: Boring but not bored

Pretty much all about the six-man football documentary today. Working on subclipping all the game footage, heading to another afternoon meeting, and so on. Didn't even go out for lunch today. I did get in 30 minutes on the elliptical, though. I've been getting better about that.

Day 101: The whole tooth

Woke up early for a dental appointment. First one without dental insurance (not that my plan had covered a lot of my out-of-network dentist costs anyway). Still, kinda sucked to pay for the whole thing myself.

Met Bob and Tom and Tan Tan for lunch (by the way, for those who don't know, that's pronounced "tahn tahn," not like a redundant tanning salon. It's Vietnamese, not beach talk).

Spent part of the afternoon on Nostalgia Lane, as I discovered a folder on my hard drive with old stories I'd written 10+ years ago. Some I'd forgotten completely about. So I got lost in rediscovery for awhile. Plus I labeled game footage for the football documentary.

Then I headed downtown for another six-man football movie meeting. On my way home I picked up a Central Market salad for dinner. I know, an exciting day.

Day 100: The Day I'd Hoped Wouldn't Come

Day 100. I hadn't planned on being laid off quite this long. On the other hand, it ain't like I've been running out of stuff to do. Still, getting a salary again would be nice. And soon.

I'm so far behind on these entries that I'm not sure what I did this day, but it doesn't seem like I went out for lunch. Pretty much spent the day on the computer working on the six-man football documentary. I did work out for 30 minutes on my elliptical exerciser. Forgot to mention that two weeks ago, I'd started using my elliptical again 3-4 times a week. I figured my foot should be okay after having played the fall season of tennis, so it was probably safe to use the elliptical again.

Also cleaned the house a bit because I was hosting Monday Night Football, where the Steelers were taking on the undefeated Colts. People were thinking the Steelers had the best shot to ruin the Colts' perfect season. But Pittsburgh's offense couldn't get going. So it was disappointing. (But given how the rematch turned out almost two months later, I can't complain). Can't remember exactly who came over for the game, but it seems like it was Bob and Anita, and maybe Tom, and maybe Craig? Not sure about Craig.
